Gus Dean Coffee is a black-owned, artisanal coffee roastery just south of the Twin Cities in Eagan, MN.
Gus believes coffee should be straight forward, and enjoyable to drink. You don’t have to be a coffee connoisseur to enjoy his coffee and no
PhD in coffee is required.
Gus Dean Coffee is also known for its smooth and refreshing cold brews. Gus’s cold brews are made from the same premium beans used to make
his coffee. No water or sugar is added to the cold brews allowing you to make your cold brew drinks how you like them.
It is almost impossible to tell you the right amount of coffee to measure out to make the perfect cup of coffee. When
determining how much coffee to use, keep in mind not everyone’s idea of a cup is the same. A standard cup is 8oz,
however, most coffee mugs are 12oz, 16 oz or more.
Here are my recommendations for some of the more common coffee ratios:
Minnesota Lite: 1 - 1 1/4 (one heaping table spoon) tablespoons per 8oz of water.
Minnesota Nice: 1 1/4 - 2 tablespoons of coffee per 8oz of water.
Minnesota Strong: 2-3 table spoons of coffee to 8oz of coffee. Using more coffee than this usually makes your spoon
stand up by itself in the mug.

It is best kept in the refrigerator. However, if unopened, it can be kept for a short period of time in a cool, dark place.
Slowly defrost it in the refrigerator
It is at its smoothest for 3-4 weeks. However, concentrate still makes great drinks after this time period.
Coffee can be decaffeinated in 4 ways. All coffee used by Gus Dean Coffee is decaffeinated using water.
Decaffeinated coffee has about 2mg of caffeine/8oz cup.
