BMA Networks is a leading Minneapolis based, black owned, interactive music and entertainment service, reaching consumers
through digital and broadband cable on Comcast channel 937.
Pete and Kimberly Bedell Rhodes are producers of diversity media and arts programming, providing communications, entertainment,
outreach and education to urban markets since 1980. The team founded The Minnesota Black Music Awards in 1982 to recognize
local and national black music artist in the midwest. In 1984 the couple launched CBLS (Cable’s Best Looking Sound) to 25k cable
homes as Minnesota’s only African American owned cable-programming channel.
Today as Black Music America the network broadcast to over 500,000 cable subscribers throughout Minnesota, western Wisconsin
and most social media platforms. The channel mission is to spotlight black culture, business, music artist, exclusive shows and
provide industry training, education and careers. Together Pictured here in their Rhodes & Bedell Music collection of 30,000 black
music titles, they’ve created a lasting platform to provide diversity in programming content and quality features for audience and
