ARWAY stands for authentic style, enduring craftsmanship, and innovation.
ARWAY means -old/beautiful woman in KRU. KRU is one of thirteen(13) languages spoken in Liberia.
To identify and educate consumer about Liberian tribes and create awareness about the dire situations facing
Liberian youth.
We travel around West Africa to get; Leather (cow and sheep) from Guinea; Cloth (Ankara from the local market
and Liberian country cloth are handwoven in Lofa); Wood (rubber, tether, ebony, and can wood) are sustainably
sourced from local Carpenters.
We acquire our animal skins from local hunters who hunt to eat. Thus, we do not mass produce, our bags made
with skin are couture.
We strive for consistency, as with any handmade products there are maybe slight and unique variations in each
of our goods.
Due to the scarcity of materials in Liberia and our passion to create eco-friendly products, ARWAY team avoids
importing raw materials by using local materials or recycle items for finishing. Majority of our materials are source
within the West African region. Our skins are source directly from local hunters. To know more about the raw
materials, we use to make our bags and accessories, click on each listed item to see how they shape our products.
